Spirit Creek Affordable Housing Project
2019-2022
As owner's representative for a non-profit housing provider, I managed the design and construction of a new affordable housing development. I worked closely with a team of consultants and contractors to bring the project to fruition. I managed the contract documents and budget, and developed functional program plans prior to occupancy and operations.
District of Squamish Heritage Management Strategy
2021-2023
In partnership with a leading BC heritage planner, I led the development of a new Squamish Heritage Management Strategy with a focus on public engagement. Engagement included Squamish Nation consultation, interviews and focus groups with 20+ community agencies and heritage advocates, and public surveys and open houses. Development of the strategy includes creation of a heritage management policy framework, application of legislated tools, and ongoing collaboration with District staff, Squamish Nation, and heritage groups.
District of Squamish Community Amenity Contribution Research Project
2022
I led a research project for the District of Squamish in preparation for a Community Amenity Contribution (CAC) Policy Update. The research project included engagement with 17 municipalities, research of best practices, and preparation of a regional scan report.
Kelowna Journey Home Supportive Housing Model
2021-2022
Working on behalf of a consulting firm, I worked with the City of Kelowna and a local non-profit to develop a supportive housing logic model that predicts how many supportive housing units would be needed in the future. The purpose of the project was to understand the number of supportive housing units needed in Kelowna so the client may advocate for funding from Provincial and Federal sources. The model uses data inputs, including housing and homelessness data, to predict supportive housing needs over the next 5 years. A key outcome of the model is that it is user-friendly and can be easily updated by the client in the future as new data is released.
City of Port Coquitlam Housing Needs Report
2021
Municipalities and regional districts in B.C. are required to complete housing needs reports every five years. These reports help communities understand and better respond to housing needs. In this report, I worked on behalf of a consulting firm and with a project team to identify unique community needs and recommend steps for action.
